The first project contains 4 MXML applications that demonstrate the various ways to authenticate with Facebook from Flex and the second project demonstrates using Facebook Connect, which is the preferred method for Flex-Facebook apps that are hosted outside of Facebook.
Aaron, I believe the tool you're talking about is called Sizeup (http://www.irradiatedsoftware.com/sizeup/). Zachary Pinter turned me onto it a while back.
We had some technical issues that prevented us from broadcasting via Connect. Sorry about that. Hopefully the slides and demos are of some use to you. Shoot me an email if you have any questions.
